Preposição "at"
Hello students!!!!
Hoje chamamos a atenção de vocês para uma pequena palavrinha mas bastante importante na língua inglesa, a preposição "AT". Quando devemos usá-la?
(1) used to indicate the place or event where something happens. E.g. I´ll drop you at the station. They met at a conference.
(2) used to indicate the time something happens. E.g. The train leaves at 6.00am. Will you be home at lunchtime?
At also appears in common phrases which indicate a place or event. (collocations), for example: at the beginning, at the top, at school, at the doctor´s, at a meeting, at breakfast, at lunch, etc.
Time expressions that frequently combine with at include: dawn, sunrise, sunset, noon, night, midnight, the weekend.
There are also set phrases with AT:
at last: eventually
at once: immediately, or, at the same time
at least: the minimum that can be done
at the moment/at present: now
at its/his/her best= in its/his/her best state
